Whoa: Shamari DeVoe Admits To Starting An Open Marriage With Husband To Explore Her 'Bi-Curiosity'

The 'RHOA' newbie is coming out the gate with the honesty.

The most recently aired episode of the Real Housewives of Atlanta saw some of the ladies share a few unknown details about themselves.

The biggest bombshell of the bunch, however, came from newbie Shamari DeVoe, who shared that she initiated an open relationship with her husband, Ronnie, so she could experiment with another woman.

During the gathering, the '90s girl group member revealed that, as she wanted to explore her bi-curiosity, she proposed that she and the Bel Biv DeVoe member consider having an open marriage.

"We were on the brink of divorce," she explained. "We were going through some really bad times and there was a girl that I was interested in and I wanted to do something different. I was bi-curious!"

The Blaque member went on to specify to the ladies that their open relationship only lasted a year and a half.

"It was a point where he could do his thing and I could do mine," she continued. "Y'all know each other and are dating other people and it's OK. It's not cheating."

After adding that the "extra" relationships she and her husband respectively explored were strictly sexual, Shamari said there were "no rules," as "there was nothing off limits. We could do anything. It was awesome."

However, she quickly remembered that there was actually one stipulation her husband boldly made in the arrangement: she could not be with another man — and she was OK with that.

"As long as I was able to go about my bi-curious ways, then I was cool with that," she said. "I didn't want to be with another man because I had my husband."

It's worth mentioning that she also shared that, throughout the course of their open relationship, she ended up sleeping with two women while Ronnie "probably slept with about 10."
