A Sitcom Legend Is Coming to 'Empire'
The third season for Fox's mega smash Empire is just around the corner, and as time draws nearer, more details on the beefed up cast are beginning to surface. Now, we've learned that a certain favorite from an iconic TV sitcom is coming to the show, and we couldn't be more excited.
According to Entertainment Weekly, The Cosby Show staple Phylicia Rashad will be joining the cast, playing the role of mother to Taye Diggs's character.
Her character, the wealthy Diana Dubois, is the mother of a prominent New York politician named Angelo (Diggs), who will serve as the new love interest for Cookie.
The legendary actress isn't the only major new addition to the cast. Other notable mentions include Scott Mescudi, aka Kid Cudi, and French Montana.
The third season of Empire premieres on September 21 at 9 p.m. on Fox.
