Another One of Lamar Odom's Close Friends Dies of Drug Overdose
Lamar Odom is in mourning for not one, but two of his close friends this month. Less than a week after the death of Jamie Sangouthai to a reported drug overdose, the former NBA player has lost a second close friend to similar circumstances, Us Weekly reports. Bobby Heyward, a producer and writer, died on Saturday at the age of 30.
The L.A. County Coroners Office confirms that Heyward passed away, but did not confirm an official cause of death, though sources say that he died of a heroin overdose. In a twist of tragic irony, Heyward's final Instagram post was a tribute to Sangouthai.
"#RIP To my big brother Jamie who always brought light into any room he walked into and laughter as well at all times J you will always be missed. Family for life. #BandOfBrothers #tbt," Heyward had captioned a throwback photo of himself with Sangouthai, Odom and another friend.
An insider adds that Odom is "beside himself" over the loss of his friends, and that he has been in touch with ex-wife Khloe Kardashian, who was also close with Heyward.
