Kelly Osbourne Threatens to Quit Over Racist Zendaya Comment

Says she had nothing to do with the controversy.

Kelly Osbourne insists she had nothing to do with the offensive comments made about Zendaya on the Oscars episode of E!'s Fashion Police, and is threatening to walk from the show if her name is not cleared.

The group’s critique of singer Zendaya has been widely viewed as racially insensitive with co-host Giuliana Rancic criticizing the 18-year-old's thick dreadlocks, saying, “I feel like she smells like pachouli oil.”

After the group laughed, cameras cut away to an image of the former Disney star as another voice was heard saying, “Or weed!”
RACIST MOMENTS IN FASHION
Though many assumed Osbourne was behind that comment, she tweeted with outrage about the incident soon after the episode aired.
“I WILL NOT BE DRAGED INTO THIS! The situation is being rectified like ADULTS by both parties. I hope you can leave it to them & do the same!” she wrote. “you guys do realize that @Zendaya is my friend right?”
After Rancic issued an apology, Osbourne tweeted again. “Im giving everyone involved 24 hours to make it right or the world will hear how I really feel. contactually Im not allowed to speak!” she wrote. “I DID NOT MAKE THE WEED COMENT. I DO NOT CONDONE RACISM SO AS A RSULT OF THIS IM SEREIOULSY QUESTIONONIG STAYING ON THE SHOW!”
Following the comments made on the show, Zendaya took to social media to blast Rancic for the snarky comments. “To say that an 18 year old young woman with locs must smell of patchouli oil or ‘weed’ is not only a large stereotype but outrageously offensive,” she wrote before listing a series of impressive stars, including Ava DuVernay and India.Arie, who rocked similar looks.
Soon after, Rancic tweeted a public apology, writing, “Dear @Zendaya, I'm sorry I offended you and others. I was referring to a bohemian chic look. Had NOTHING to do with race and NEVER would!!!”
A source tells Us Weekly, "Kelly is really upset about this. She really is friends with Zendaya. They both were Material Girl spokesmodels. She already has reached out to her to make sure she was clear that she had nothing to do with it. She doesn't condone Giuliana's dumb comment."
