Celebrity Lawsuits of 2014

Nicki, Iggy and more stars who got litigious this year.

Celebrity Lawsuits of 2014 - Celebrities were feeling particularly litigious in 2014. From Nicki Minaj's defense against her former wigmaker to Iggy Azalea using the legal system to protect herself from a spiteful ex, here's a rundown of the year in A-list lawsuits. Tracy Morgan vs. Wal-Mart - After a fatal car accident on the New Jersey Turnpike that left one person dead and Morgan critically injured, the comedian decided to sue the mega-retailer for negligence (Wal-Mart's truck is the vehicle that initiated the six car pileup). The big box giant's attempt to shift the blame back to Morgan for not wearing a seatbelt was met with outrage on social media, but we'll have to wait until next year to see what a jury thinks. Nicki Minaj - Earlier this year, Nicki's former wig-maestro sued the rap diva to the tune of $30 million for stealing his designs and bailing on a planned joint reality show. In September, a judge shut down his case for lack of sufficient evidence. Looks like the secrets of Nicki's hair are safe for now.  (Photo: Optic Photos, PacificCoastNews.com)Kim Kardashian and Kanye West - Kimye usually takes pride in sharing every aspect of their lives on social media, but when YouTube founder Chad Hurley posted a video from Kanye's over-the-top proposal to Kim at San Francisco's AT&T Park without their permission, the couple were quick to file suit. In March, Hurley asked the court to dismiss the suit, pointing out that none of the media outlets that reposted the video had been asked to take it down, thereby claiming the Kardashian machine was suing him simply for the publicity.  (Photo: Jacopo Raule/Getty Images)
