SZA Brings New Weapons In The War Of The Hearts

Even Barack sweats her technique.

SZA — real name Solána Rowe — has been active in music for the past six years, but it wasn’t until her grand debut in 2017 that the world started taking notice of her talent on a mainstream level.

The singer defied all odds, taking her then underground sound to the Billboard charts with her Travis Scott-assisted single “Love Galore.” The song peaked at No. 32 on the US Billboard hot 100 and No. 1 on the US Adult R&B Songs chart. Her star skyrocketed once her debut album Ctrl dropped on June 9, topping the Billboard 200 chart. Her work has since been recognized by the Academy at the 2018 Grammy Awards, seeing her earn five nominations, making her the most nominated woman at the event. With all she’s achieved in just the beginning stages of her stardom, SZA is more than deserving of being recognized in our Black History Month celebration, “The Great 28.”
