Stacey Dash Compares Herself to Kanye
Kanye West is going through a rough time right now. Last night, news broke that he was hospitalized for a mental breakdown caused by severe sleep deprivation just one day after a series of rants against Jay Z and Beyoncé — and his endorsement of Donald Trump — cost him legions of devoted fans.
But he still has at least one person in his corner. Stacey Dash.
In a blog post written before West's hospitalization, the Clueless star defended Yeezy's bizarre endorsement of Donald Trump, saying she knows how it feels to be persecuted by the press and fans for defending the divisive politician.
"Well, well, well. Seems like I wasn’t the only black person to support Donald J. Trump for President after all," Stacey began her post, going on to cite examples of Kanye claiming he felt persecuted for his political beliefs, and a rumor that his manager, Scooter Braun, had encouraged him to stay quiet about Trump until after the election.
"I get that, Kanye. Here’s the thing — we can’t let our voices silenced because we’re afraid of criticism… no matter when Voting Day occurs!" she concluded, the latter part perhaps a reference to Kanye's admission that he didn't, in fact, vote.
It's worth noting that Yeezy donated thousands to Hillary Clinton's campaign, and that his endorsement of Trump came just a couple of days before a mental breakdown. Also worth noting that in the same 24 hours, he blasted Beyoncé, Jay Z and Mark Zuckerberg. So, hard to say if Yeezy's endorsement of Trump was the result of "severe sleep deprivation," a need to instigate controversy or respect for his Twitter game.
As for Stacey, she's supporting the most unqualified, divisive and openly racist president-elect in American history on a full night's sleep.
