Kim Kardashian Unleashes Her Legal Dream Team To Help Another Incarcerated Black Woman

The reality star is trying to make a change.

It seems as Kim Kardashian is shedding her airy socialite image and is adopting a role of social justice influencer as she is reportedly putting her high-powered legal team to work to help another incarcerated Black woman get justice.

According to TMZ, the reality starlet and entrepreneur hired attorney Shawn Holley to represent Alice Marie Johnson, 62, who, to the outrage and dismay of many, was sentenced to life in prison two decades ago for a first-time, non-violent offense.

Her initial 1993 arrest was linked to her involvement in a Memphis cocaine-distribution ring. While she admitted to being a part of the drug network, she specified that she only transmitted messages between dealers and had no hand in the product, itself.

Grateful for Kim's help, Johnson wrote her a letter.

"I am so humbled by what you are doing and have already done on my behalf," she wrote, in part. "When I spoke with attorney Shawn Holley and she disclosed the name of my benefactor, I had to take time to process and digest the news that you were the one she had been alluding to. There are no words strong enough to express my deep and heartfelt gratitude."

This isn't the first act of justice Kim has undertaken. She has also, recently, been involved in providing legal counsel for Cyntoia Brown.
