Exclusive: Yandy Smith Insists She Never Lied About Her Marriage to Mendeecees

Watch the reality star get candid.

Love & Hip Hop: New York star Yandy Smith recently stopped by the BET offices to break down the details on her new book, My Blended Family

While here, she also took the time to dish on some of the hot topics from the recently ended season of LHHNY and  the validity of her marriage to Mendeecees Harris, which was a big topic on the show.

Answering questions from fans, the entrepreneur kept it 100 when explaining her piece, particularly when speaking on her marriage to her incarcerated husband and the public labeling her a liar for saying they were legally married when the union was not validated by the government.

"That is my husband. There is no piece of paper that will say that is my husband or not," she said. "For me, personally, I loved that man since the day I met him and that is my baby, my baby daddy, my husband and everything in between."

When addressing the lying allegations, she said there was no such thing and their vows held more power than a notarized piece of paper.

"It was never a lie, and still, as I said, that is my husband, you know?" she said. "And I think that, as women, sometimes we have to put ourselves and our needs first and our children's needs first and that is exactly what I did. When I gave my vows and when he gave his vows, I meant every word of it. It was unfortunate that we were advised at the time not to send the paperwork off, but from that moment I gave my vows, that was my husband."

Watch her go more in-depth in the video, above.

Yandy's new book, My Blended Family, is currently available online and at Barnes & Noble bookstores.
