Bobby Brown Shares Some 'Enlightenment' With Newborn's Name
In the midst of his daughter Bobbi Kristina's deteriorating condition, Bobby Brown received a much needed boost through the birth of his new bundle of joy. He and his wife Alicia Etheredge recently had their second child together and named her Bodhi Jameson Rein Brown.
According to US Magazine, the name Bodhi is a Buddhist concept of enlightenment, associated with the state of nirvana. When translated into English, it means "enlightenment" or "awakened."
The birth certificate, obtained by TMZ, shows that Bodhi was born at Los Angeles's Cedars-Sinai hospital on July 9 at 8:24 p.m. She has five siblings waiting for her: one being Brown and Etheredge's firstborn, Cassius, 5, as well as 22-year-old Bobbi Kristina Brown, who was recently moved to hospice care after her condition continued to worsen after more than four months of hospital care.
The New Edition member has been by Bobbi Kristina's side since the beginning, and recently admitted to fans during a performance that his faith was the only thing keeping him hopeful.
"You know, rough times are rough times," he said at the Soul Food Festival in Los Angeles. "Hard times are hard times. I don't know what the hell I'm going through right now, but I'm giving it to God and letting him deal with it."
We hope Bodhi's birth brings some light to the Brown family. Congratulations to the happy couple!
