Like Martin Scorcese and Leonardo DiCaprio, Selma dream team Ava DuVernay and David Oyelowo are quickly becoming Hollywood's hottest collaborators. The pair, who first worked together on the indie drama Middle of Nowhere and are currently celebrating the success of Selma, will soon be reuniting for a new Hurricane Katrina drama for Participant Media. 
The company announced the news on Monday, with the EVP Narrative Film Jonathan King saying in a statement, “Hurricane Katrina is one of the most important social and environmental stories of our time. Ava DuVernay has shown herself to be highly skilled at bringing intimacy and contemporary urgency to epic events. We have been looking for the right way to get back in business with Ava, and with David Oyelowo, and are proud to re-team with them on her original idea, which we believe will be a powerful film.”
No plot details have been released about the film.
Both DuVernay and Oyelowo, who played the late Martin Luther King Jr. in the Oscar-nominated Selma, were snubbed in the directing and acting categories, respectively, leading to the most whitewashed Oscars in some years. 
Selma was nominated for both Best Picture and Best Original Song for “Glory” by Common and John Legend.
