Beyoncé Is Taking Acting Lessons to Win That Oscar

The superstar reportedly wants to play an "iconic dramatic role."

What Beyoncé attempts, she usually conquers, so now that we know she's looking for an "iconic dramatic role" to reacquaint herself with Hollywood, we have no doubt she'll be a contender for an Oscar very soon.
According to Us Weekly, Bey is very serious about returning to the big screen following her Golden Globe-nominated performance in Dreamgirls. “She wants to land leading roles in movies and has been taking classes in New York and L.A. for the past year,” an insider reveals.
This time around, she doesn't want to limit herself to musicals. “Bey’s looking for an iconic dramatic role,” adds the source, who notes she turned down NBC’s The Wiz Live! “She wants to make a film that’s socially relevant to African-American rights.”
Our minds are in overdrive trying to picture Bey in the next Spike Lee joint or teaming up with Ava DuVernay for another biopic.
But the Beyhive need not worry: Yoncé hasn't abandoned her music roots. “Beyonce's also recording a new album!” adds the source. “She’s writing and working with a bunch of producers right now.” It's just a matter of time, however, before that perfect role comes along.
To understand Bey's drive, you gotta watch her documentary Life Is But a Dream. Watch the icon's interview with 106 & Park at the film's premiere below:
