Damon Dash Squashes Beef With Lee Daniels

The two are apparently working on a movie together.

Damon Dash has seemingly crossed a name off of his lengthy list of beefs, this one involving famed director and producer Lee Daniels. The two are apparently on such good terms that they are working on a new film together.

Taking to Instagram to share the news, Dash let the world know that they buried the hatchet all in the name of business. "This #bukowski movie gets serious and by the way lee Daniel [sic] is executive producer on this one...pause [sic] we squashed are [sic] beef...never wanna have a problem with another man from our culture."

The former record executive then went on to express relief that he can finally support Daniels's work now that the two are on good terms: "I can finally watch precious the butler and empire...I was to [sic] sick about it before... should [sic] out to lee Daniels right now."

Dash filed a lawsuit against Daniels earlier this year for $25 million after he claimed that he put $2 million into a film project that the Empire creator failed to act on. After the film failed to take form, Dash apparently was not reimbursed. The outspoken personality further explained that he and Daniels made a deal that would allow him to get paid on another project but once Precious dropped, Lee reportedly "went missing."

Dash also claimed that he was responsible for sending stars to Daniels like Mariah Carey and Kanye West, who he has since included in both his films and promotional efforts for various projects.

According to the Hollywood Reporter, both parties have worked out their differences and the lawsuit was dismissed on Tuesday (April 7). Dash's attorney, Natraj Bhushan, said that it was a "creative, fair" settlement that "calls for them to work together in the not so-distant future."
