Do You Want to Read Oprah's Memoirs?
Everything Oprah touches immediately turns to eight figures, and now that includes a possible book deal. According to Deadline.com, publishers have been in a bidding war to nab the rights to the media mogul's memoir, with Flatiron Books the official winner.
The company has set a January 2017 publish date for the book, which will chronicle Winfrey's remarkable life and career. Though the talk show queen has co-written several books, including 2014's What I Know for Sure, this will be her first true and definitive memoir.
The publisher also announced that the book will be the lead title in her very own imprint, which will include several nonfiction titles per year chosen personally by Oprah. In other words, her book club officially becomes a book publisher.
While the exact amount of the deal has not been revealed, sources say it's one of the biggest autobiography deals in recent memory.
