Keanu Reeves Reveals His Favorite Hip Hop Song

The John Wick star talks his new movie and the impact N.W.A had on him.

Preparing for the release of his latest film—action thriller John Wick—actor Keanu Reeves sat down with BET.com to discuss the film, his favorite hip hop song and memories of working with Aaliyah.

Aaliyah and Reeves were supposed to star in 2003’s Matrix Reloaded. However, after her tragic death in a plane crash in 2001, her scenes were reshot with actress Nona Gaye. “When you were in the room with that wonderful spirit you knew you were in the room with a wonderful spirit,” Reeves says. “Yeah, just a beautiful person.”

Another music act comes into the conversation when Reeves remembers his favorite hip hop song. “I’m going back to N.W.A,” he says. “My mind is on ‘F the Police.’” In full nostalgia mode, the film star discusses the impact the 1988 rap music classic had on him. “When I heard that,” he remembers, “my head went, ‘Boom!’”
