Carson Daly Slammed for Tweets on the Baltimore Riots

Former VJ blasted for calling protesters "lawless looters."

Looks like Carson Daly forgot the Internet's cardinal rule of "think before you tweet." The former VJ and current host of The Voice has attracted major backlash after shaming Baltimore protesters and calling them "lawless looters." The Maryland city has been in a state of unrest after the funeral of Freddie Gray, a 25-year-old Black man who died of spinal cord injuries while in police custody.
“Really sucks to see these lawless looters ruining the great city of @Baltimore. This isn’t protest, this is a violent attack on your OWN city,” Daly said. Though he quickly deleted the message from his account, he was too late on the draw: hundreds had already taken screenshots and proceeded to drag the host for his "white privilege."

"Carson Daly's white privilege is so strong, he thought he was trending because everyone agreed with him," one tweeter wrote, while another added, "If we can raise awareness about police brutality AND finally get Carson Daly out of here...that would be a magical monday."
Daly later responded with another statement, that seems to have done nothing to slow the flow of hate in his direction. “Not worth all the hate,” he wrote in response to one critic. “This whole thing is sad to watch. All of it. I hope no more people get hurt that’s all.”
The tone deaf tweets also opened up the floodgates for social media users to make fun of the former Total Request Live host for anything and everything. "Good to see Carson Daly take time from being painfully irrelevant to weigh in on what's happening in Baltimore," one user said.
"Hey @CarsonDaly remember when u would put on ur black voice everytime u had a rapper on trl? that was so tite dude," another added.
Well, that should teach Daly for instigating Black Twitter. For more information about what's really going on in Baltimore, watch our summary video below.
