Watch Cakes da Killa Freestyle About Homophobia
As hip hop sheds the masculine ideal that has dominated the community for the past few decades, an artist like Cakes da Killa finally has a chance to shine. The New Jersey native has made waves in the past couple of years with his raunchy lyrics and confident flow, not to mention his unapologetic persona of a gay male in a notoriously homophobic genre of music.
We sat down with Killa to talk about the pervasiveness of gay slang in pop culture and his new music. The rapper also drops a little freestyle on us, including a line that could be a new mantra for hip hop's LGBT community: "make a homophobe a hypocrite."
Check out the interview below and look our for our full interview with the rapper next month!
