Box Office: Melissa McCarthy's Spy Crushes Entourage

Bromance falls flat in the series' big-screen spinoff.

It is turning out to be a great summer for female-driven films. On the heels of Pitch Perfect 2's groundbreaking success, Melissa McCarthy's latest comedy, Spy, won the box office this weekend with $30 million in coin. 
The James Bond spoof easily beat out the cameo-packed bromantic comedy Entourage, which fell far short of expectations with only $10.5 million in ticket sales ($17.5 in its first five days of release) and a fourth place finish.
Sandwiched between those two new openings were Dwayne Johnson's natural disaster tent-pole San Andreas, which came in second with an additional $26.4 million, and Insidious: Chapter 3, which opened in third place with a solid $23 million.
Fifth place went to Mad Max: Fury Road, which hauled in another $8 million.
Next week, Jurassic World is expected to stomp all over the competition and take a huge bite out of the box office.
