Gabrielle Union’s New Gig Will Give You Major Nostalgia

This is going to be epic.

While the prospect of a Bad Boys 3 film is still up in the air, fans of the franchise may be in luck as it just may continue its plot on the small screen with one of the original stars at its nucleus: Gabrielle Union.

According to Deadline, a Bad Boys TV spin-off series is currently in the works focusing primarily around Union's character, with the actress, herself, reprising her role.

The untitled pilot will be penned by Blacklist writers Brandon Margolis and Brandon Sonnier and is currently being pitched to networks in hopes that it would be picked up. The tentative series is also set to be executive produced by well-known original film producer Jerry Bruckheimer.

The Being Mary Jane star played Marcus' (Martin Lawrence) sister and Mike's (Will Smith) love interest Special Agent Syd Burnett in the 2003 second installment of the Bad Boys franchise. Details on the TV spin-off are still scarce at the time, but here's to it being picked up!

Union is set to wrap up her role as the now iconic Mary Jane Paul in the BET original series Being Mary Jane in a two-hour series finale movie next year.
