Will Smith is shedding his good guy image and digging into the role of the anti-hero in DC Comics' Suicide Squad, Deadline.com reports. Smith will play Deadshot on the long-awaited comic adaptation, alongside Jared Leto as Joker and Margot Robbie as Harley Quinn.
Rounding out the cast are Tom Hardy as Rick Flagg, Jai Courtney as Boomerang and Cara Delevingne as Enchantress.
Training Day writer David Ayer will pen the script and direct the film, which is due in theaters in August 2016. 
Suicide Squad follows a group of supervillains who are brought together to tackle high-risk black ops missions for the government. The film will be Smith's second superhero movie, the first being Hancock.
