Teen Charged For Fatally Shooting 3-Year-Old Whose Family Is Friends With 21 Savage

The Atlanta rapper will cover the funeral costs for T'Rhigi Craig Diggs.

Police in Atlanta have arrested a 15-year-old boy in connection with the shooting death of a 3-year-old boy, who was killed in a drive-by on Easter. As the family grieves, a famous Atlanta rapper has stepped up to pay for the funeral costs.

T’Rhigi Diggs was sitting in his mother’s car while she drove by a gas station in DeKalb County. At some point, shots rang out and the boy was hit. After reviewing surveillance footage from the station, police were able to track down the unnamed 15-year-old suspect.

DeKalb County police believe the teenager shot and killed T’Rhigi as he rode past the gas station in his mother’s car on Easter Sunday.

T’Rhigi's parents told WSB-TV they could not believe another child was accused of killing their child.

“That’s sad, people need to learn how to keep their children in their house, in school,” T’Rhigi’s mother, Rashonda Craig, told Channel 2.

“I don’t know how to even come at that. A 15-year-old boy? Like, I’m just glad they found him, that’s it,” added T’Rhigi’s father, Jamel Diggs.

Police said surveillance footage from the gas station and interviews with witnesses led them to the shooter, but police won’t yet say why the boy allegedly fired the shot.

“The loss of T’Rhigi is tragic and senseless. It is my hope that this arrest will bring some sense of comfort and closure to his family,” DeKalb County Police Chief James W. Conroy said in a news release Wednesday.

The Atlanta rapper 21 Savage stepped up to cover the funeral costs of T’Rhigi Diggs, the 3-year-old killed in a shooting on the night of Easter.

After the shooting, Atlanta rapper 21 Savage, who is friends with Rashonda Craig, offered to cover the cost of the child’s funeral, reported The Atlanta Journal-Constitution. She said the offer was touching and a weight off the family.
