Tragic News: Missing New Jersey College Student Has Been Found Dead

What officials believe happened to 20-year-old Sarah Butler.

A missing college student from Montclair, New Jersey, has now been found dead.

According to NJ.com, Sarah Butler, a freshman at New Jersey City University, was reported missing days before Thanksgiving. The 2007 Dodge Caravan she was driving was found discovered abandoned in Orange, New Jersey, the night before.

Her death has now been ruled a homicide by police. It’s unclear where exactly she was found as authorities haven’t released that information. Butler was a volleyball player and an accomplished trained dancer. She lived with her parents and two sisters, and was planning a vacation to Jamaica with her family prior to her passing.

“Not my Sarah, not my Sarah,“ her mother, LaVern Butler, told ABC News7. “It was senseless I just … whoever did this is a dog.”

“Somebody to do what they did to my baby girl, I just feel I couldn’t help her. I wasn’t there, that’s the hardest part, you know,” Sarah’s father, Victor Butler, added.

Sarah Butler’s cause of death has not yet been revealed. Authorities are offering $10,000 for information leading to an arrest and conviction for her murder.
