Seahawks' Doug Baldwin Fact-Checked A Panelist On American History Live On CNN

"I'm sorry, sir, you're incorrect."

In the midst of Donald Trump's ongoing attack on protesting NFL players, Seattle Seahawks defensive end Michael Bennett and his teammate, wide receiver Doug Baldwin, participated in a town hall discussion on CNN this past Wednesday night.

Not only did the Seahawks' stars offer up thought-provoking, woke answers, but Baldwin got one panelist all the way together by fact-checking him on a piece of American history.

The moment took place when panelist Reverend Michael Faulkner, who is a former NFL player, tried to touch on people claiming protests are un-American by saying: "Talk about the DNA of America? The DNA of America is protests. The Boston Tea Party is what got this whole thing kicked off. It was a protest movement."

Several minutes later, when the town hall discussion's moderator, Anderson Cooper, posed a question to Baldwin and Bennett, Baldwin had some historical facts to drop on Faulkner.

"First and foremost, I want to go back to something the Reverend said earlier. He said the Boston Tea Party got this kicked off. I'm sorry, sir, you're incorrect," Baldwin said. "That was the Boston Massacre that happened three years prior to that when nine British police officers —armed police officers — gunned down some unarmed Americans. That's where this got kicked off. And I think it's ironic that we're talking about this topic tonight."

Catch the moment at the 40:29 mark of the video below.

Well, he told him!

Earlier in the program, Baldwin broke down how he thinks people should combat oppression in relation to NFL players kneeling during the national anthem.

Within the same broadcast, Bennett challenged Americans to "treat people better."

Baldwin and Bennett are easily two of the more woke players in the entire NFL and sports, period. This appearance on CNN just reinforces that.
