Look: Sasha and Malia Slay in Morocco With the First Lady

And here’s what they had to say to women of Africa

Sasha and Malia Obama got to bust out their passports and hit the road with our wonderful first lady, Michelle Obama. The three women embarked on a six-day African tour in order to promote education for women. The Obamas recently reached the final stop of their tour: Morocco.

As the women touched down in Marrakesh, they were met by Princess Lalla Selma. The Obamas had just come from a leadership camp for girls in Liberia. In Liberia, the FLOTUS delivered a $27 million donation to the Let Girls Learn initiative.

It has always been a mission for both Barack and Michelle Obama to empower young men and women of color all over the world. In the US, President Obama created his program called My Brother’s Keeper, a program designed to empower young Black men in America. Last year, he collaborated with his wife to create Let Girls Learn, a program designed to support the millions of girls being kept away from school.

As for Sasha and Malia, this has to be a wonderful opportunity for them to see their mother work so hard to empower other women. Surely they are no strangers to the gallant efforts put forth by both of their parents on a daily basis; however, the fact that they are traveling with their mother allows them to experience her power first hand.

An experience such as this should inspire the youngest of the Obamas to continue to work to empower and inspire those around the world. The work that this family is doing for the entire globe is incredible and should certainly be added to the long list of accomplishments for the president.
