Tyreese From The Walking Dead Screams for Humanity on NYC Subway

Chad L. Coleman apologizes for his bizarre behavior.

New Yorkers are accustomed to seeing angry passengers on the subway, but riders of a Brooklyn-bound express train got a special earful on Friday when Walking Dead actor Chad L. Coleman was the one doing the ranting.
A video taken by a fellow passenger, first obtained by TMZ, is fairly erratic and without context, starting with Coleman pacing up and down the train car shouting about empathy.

"If you care, f*****g care," he says at one point. And then later: "At the end of the day, where's the humanitarian in you?" In the second half of the clip, Coleman is seated on the train and discusses The Wire, in which he also starred, and his approach to acting.

"The stories that I tell are to try to help people move forward, to evolve," he says. "I try to tell them ugly a** stories that nobody else wants to tell."

Now, Coleman is apologizing for disturbing his fellow passengers' commute, but stands by his words. He tells TMZ that he overheard another passenger refer to him by the n-word, as the man was trying to figure out where he knew Coleman. He adds, his comments about humanity were about the ongoing protests in Baltimore in the wake of the death of Freddie Gray, and asserts that he wasn't drunk during, but he wished he could have better controlled his emotions.
Coleman extends his apology to The Walking Dead cast and his family.
