Horrific Video Shows Man Whipping Teen 50 Times With A Belt As She Screamed In Pain Then Shaving Her Head Because She Downloaded Snapchat

Another man can be heard laughing and encouraging Alex Harrison to beat the child.

A Mississippi man was arrested on Monday after uploading several videos to Snapchat and Facebook which appeared to show him beating a girl with a belt over 50 times and then forcibly shaving her head.

Alex J. Harrison of Ferriday was held for cruelty to a juvenile, reported the Natchez Democrat.

In the video, which was uploaded Snapchat, Facebook and YouTube, a man who police believe to be Harrison is standing over a young girl who kneels over a couch with her hands protecting her backside. The man then strikes the girl over 50 times with a brown belt. According to one of the videos, the punishment was inflicted because the girl downloaded Snapchat.

During the clip, another person, who is filming, can be heard yelling at the girl and encouraging the man to hit her with the belt. Then in a second video, the girl holds her head in her hands crying while the man shaves her head with an electric razor.

“You want to act like you grown?” the man holding the camera says. “You ain’t grown.”

In a video uploaded to Facebook, person yells at the girl after her head is shaved.

“Look at me,” they say. “This is what happens when you get grown. You see that? ... This how you do, huh? Look at the camera. This is what you do. Now go in there and get yourself together. See if you want to be grown.”

Ferriday Police Department Detective Richard Madison could not reveal the girl’s relationship to Harrison or any details of the case because the victim is a juvenile. However, he did say the behavior in the video is consistent with abuse.

“After reviewing the video,” Madison told the Democrat, “from my experience in this business, we determined that the child was abused.”

“We determined from video evidence and witness testimony that the subject committed a serious crime,” Madison added.

Other arrests in the investigation could be pending, he said. Juvenile investigator Bo Stevens is currently working on the Harrison case.

“There is a proper way to discipline children,” Stevens said. “This was above and beyond that. This was abuse.”
