Are You Here for Mayweather-Pacquiao Rematch Next Year?

Undefeated champion would wait until rival recovers from shoulder surgery.

Upon learning that Manny Pacquiao walked into their mega bout with an injured shoulder this past Saturday night, Floyd Mayweather Jr. is willing to give him one more shot.

The undefeated champion text-messaged ESPN's Stephen A. Smith, "I will fight him in a year after his surgery."

Pacquiao is accused of hiding his shoulder injury, which was later discovered to be a torn rotator cuff in his right shoulder. He'll have surgery on it later this week and is expected to be out of action anywhere from nine months to one year.

Pacquiao faces a suspension or fine from the Nevada Athletic Commission for failing to fully disclose his shoulder injury on a questionnaire form during Friday's weigh-in.

"It's not just the fact he didn't fill out the questionnaire completely, it was that he wasn't honest and they didn't tell us a month ago when he had the shoulder injury," Nevada Athletic Commission executive director Bob Bennett told ESPN. "They're not obligated to, but two hours before the fight they wanted a shot that's a painkiller, in essence. That put us in a very precarious position."

The fight wound up being a low-action, lopsided affair in which Mayweather dominated Pacquiao en route to winning a unanimous decision. With many fans feeling cheated out of a great fight, it remains to be seen how many would be interested in a possible rematch.

Mayweather's willingness for a rematch next year comes after he already vowed that his next fight in September would be his last.
