Future Scores His First No. 1 Album with DS2

Atlanta rapper's third studio album tops Billboard.

Future is floating high this week.

The Atlanta rapper's third studio album is now his first release to debut atop Billboard's Top 200. In the week since it dropped, DS2 soared to No. 1 with 151,000 units sold, including 126,000 physical copies.

Tyreses Black Rose, the previous week’s title holder, slipped to No. 4, while Meek Mill’s Dreams Worth More Than Money sits at No. 7, down from its two week run at No. 1 earlier this month.

This latest first place win gives rap albums another top debut this year, on the heels of Meek and behind Kendrick Lamars To Pimp aButterfly, A$AP Rocky’s At.Long.Last.A$AP and Drake’s If You’re Reading This It’s Too Late.

While rap is clearly as influential as it is profitable, the aforementioned projects further show just how well fans respond to releases with little-to-no advance warning.
