Video Shows Officers Forcefully Arrest Man for Double Parking in the Bronx

A video of NYPD officers using excessive force to arrest a man in the Bronx, New York, for double parking and making an illegal U-turn is making its way around the Internet.

We're running out of hands to count the amount of questionable practices used by police to approach civilians who commit traffic violations. A recent video of NYPD officers from the 47th precinct using excessive force to arrest a man in the Bronx, New York, for double parking and making an illegal U-turn, is making its way around the Internet.

Timothy Nelson, 24, was pulled out of his vehicle by officers and shoved to the ground in an incident that was captured on camera by another passenger sitting in the backseat of the vehicle. Nelson admits to DNAinfo.com that he had been double parked in front of a Kennedy Fried Chicken.

In the video, Nelson had driven away from the store and parked his car in what appears to be an apartment complex when the officers approached him and pulled him out the car.

"Y'all doing that for no reason right now," the person filming the ordeal can be heard saying.

"Yo look what they doing. They punching him and all that," another voice can be heard yelling, while one uniformed officer and two plain clothes officers restrained him using their knees.

While on the ground, Nelson could be heard complaining that an officer had been punching him in the face. Another man and woman can be seen walking into the shot with cellphone cameras and filming.

One of Nelson's family members, a woman, appeared and began demanding that the officers get off of him. Nelson is then escorted to a police vehicle. Two officers can be seen pushing Nelson into the police car. "I don't feel safe!" he yelled while resisting.
“I really wasn't doing anything,” Nelson told DNAinfo.com. “They wanted to take me to jail.”

Another officer, around the 1:30 mark, then runs up behind Nelson and joins in pushing the man into the car. This causes the situation to escalate as a least two dozen more officers swarm the scene to bring order.
