Jay Z Makes Personal Thank You Calls to Users Who Sign Up for Tidal

Jay Z makes phone calls to users who sign up for Tidal to thank them for using the platform.

Jay Z is redefining what it means to have good customer service with his new music streaming service Tidal.

The 45-year-old hip hop mogul has been personally calling subscribers of Tidal and thanking them for using the site, says Tidal executive Vania Schlogel to Business InsiderPersonal fans of Hov are pretty excited to get a phone call from him. "This is the best customer service call I’ve ever received!" Schlogel recalls one of his fan's comments.

Jay Z isn't the only one making phone calls. Jack White and several other high-profile names have reached out to subscribers to chat about their experience. Musicians are able to contact users because their own Tidal accounts have an ability to see who listens to their music and to see how their albums are engaging with fans. That part of the system, Schlogel says, allows them to get information to speak with them directly.

For $19.99/month, users get "lossless high-fidelity sound quality, high definition music videos and expertly curated editorial." For $9.99/month, users receive the same content, but in standard, compressed quality. Whichever one you chose, the musicians involved are appreciative for your support.

Tidal has been offering users a steady stream of exclusive content. Rihanna debuted her new single and video “American Oxygen” on the service. Madonna and Jay Z (who released his video to "Glory" yesterday via the platform) have kept their promise of setting Tidal apart from competitors as well.
