Lupe Fiasco continues to fight in solidarity with people battling cancer on his new song, “Remission.”

The celebrity ambassador for Stand Up to Cancer (SU2C) tapped fellow Chicagoans Jennifer Hudson and Common to offer moving lyrics about the fight against cancer and the will to live on his remixed version of “Remission.”

“I could have died but I came out fighting,” J-Hud sings with passion and determination on the hook, while Common gets personal, opening up about his father’s experience with prostate cancer.

This middle finger to cancer serves as the follow-up to “Mission,” the lead single off of Lupe’s upcoming fifth album, Tetsuo & Youth, which features an empowering opening of triumphant testimonies from cancer survivors, including Charlie Wilson.

 “Remission” will be available for purchase on iTunes on Sept. 5, the same day Lupe, Jennifer and Common will perform at the Stand Up to Cancer charity event.
