This Trump Voter's Husband Just Got Deported and People Are Showing as Little Mercy as the President

Many are asking what did she expect.

Trump voters across the country are now being forced to face the reality of administration policies as opposed to the grandiose promises he made on the campaign trail. One Indiana woman is experiencing a particularly tough bout of buyer’s remorse because her undocumented husband was deported as a result of Trump’s tough immigration reform.

Helen Beristain believed Donald Trump in November when he said that he would crack down on the “bad hombres” in this country. However, when her husband, Roberto Beristain, was detained by Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) in March, she realized that Trump’s promise was not true.

Throughout the ordeal, Beristain maintained a sliver of hope.

"I don't think ICE is out there to detain anyone and break families, no," Beristain told WSBT in March.

However, Beristain’s nightmare became real on Wednesday when her husband was sent across the Mexican border. Roberto had no criminal record.

"He hadn't committed any crimes. He didn't even have a parking ticket," family attorney Adam Ansari said. "From everyone's accounts, he is probably one of the most lovable guys you will ever meet. He is a loving husband and father. And he put a lot of work into his restaurant."

When Beristain was first detained, the ordeal moved so quickly that he was not able to be seen before a judge, who would have delivered a proper ruling of his case.

"They suddenly told me it was time to go," Roberto Beristain said, as reported by CNN. "They told me to get my stuff, they put me in the back of a van and sped toward the border. They took me to another facility while in transport to sign paperwork. I asked to speak with my attorney, but was told there wasn't time for that. At around 10 p.m., I was dropped off at the Mexico-US border and walked into Mexico."

Now, many question why the Beristain family is shocked with the harmful decisions made by President Trump.
