GoFundMe Created in Memory of 'Vibrant' Naomi Jones's Tragically Short Life
A remembrance night will take place on Thursday.

<p>After the body of 12-year-old Naomi Jones was discovered in Eight Mile Creek in Pensacola, Florida, a fundraiser has been started to help the family move forward. The <a href="https://www.gofundme.com/in-memory-of-naomi-jones">GoFundMe</a> page was started by KlaasKids family advocate Samantha Graber in order to relieve any financial burden the family may have at this time. </p>
<p>?Chaplain Tony Dickey and I, a family friend, have started this GoFundMe account to help Shantara (Jones? mother) and her sons move forward without the immediate worry of meeting financial needs,? Graber said on the GoFundMe page.</p>
<p>?Through this fund we will directly pay their rent, utilities, vehicle costs and help with any relocation costs. We have an allocation for assisting with costs of laying Naomi to rest as well. For now, we want to take financial worry off their plate.?</p>
<p>Jones ? who had been missing since last Wednesday ? was found in the creek by a fisherman only miles from her house. Although no charges have been filed in connection with Jones?s death, police questioned <a href="http://www.pnj.com/story/news/2017/06/06/police-question-two-people-interest-naomi-jones-death/373973001/">two people of interest in the case.</a></p>
<p>Jones was a student at Ferry Pass Elementary School and had just graduated fifth grade. In the fall, she planned to attend Ferry Pass Middle School.</p>
<p>According to school administrators, Jones could not wait to start sixth grade.</p>
<p>"She was looking forward to going to middle school, and she wanted to be a cheerleader," said Ferry Pass Elementary School Principal Rhonda Shuford. "She was a very happy student and energetic, she was very caring about her family."</p>
<p>On the GoFundMe page, Graber described the fun-loving and bright spirit that Jones often displayed.</p>
<p>?[Jones was a] vibrant spirit who loved her family with all her heart. When you met her, you noticed a smile that lit up the room and a laugh that warmed your heart. A laugh that will no longer be heard.?</p>
<p>Disaster and Victim Services International and the family of Naomi Jones will host a community remembrance night for the girl at 7 p.m. on Thursday, reported the <a href="http://www.pnj.com/story/news/2017/06/07/remembrance-night-naomi-jones-set-thursday/377127001/"><i>Pensacola News-Journal</i>.</a></p>
