Solange Delays Puma Shoe Release in Honor of Michael Brown

The singer opted not to drop the collection on Black Friday to stand in solidarity with mass boycotts.

Solange has taken her outspokenness to the ultimate level by delaying the Black Friday release of her new sneaker collection in honor of Michael Brown's unjust killing.

Though the recently married singer's new "Wild Wonder" Puma sneaker line was in line to make a massive splash on Black Friday, she thinks that the boycott will send a strong message of solidarity that many others are supporting.

Explaining her decision on Instagram, she wrote, "To echo my feelings shared surrounding the outcome of the Michael Brown case, I have solely decided to postpone the release of my Puma collaboration originally scheduled to release this Friday, November 28th to Monday December 1st. I am truly grateful for everyone's support and excited to share this collection with you soon..." — Solange."

Other celebrities who, like Solange, have decided not to participate in the biggest shopping event of the year include Russell Simmons, Kat Graham, Soledad O'Brien and Jesse Williams.

The nation was immensely disappointed after the city of Ferguson failed to indict Darren Wilson, the police officer who shot and killed unarmed teenager Michael Brown.
