UPDATE: Viola Davis Did Not Buy The Former Plantation Land Where She Was Born

The Oscar winner cleared up the “abstract” Instagram post.

UPDATE:

A social media post had Viola Davis fans believing she bought the former plantation where she was born. The Oscar winner is now explaining she didn’t buy the land, it was just a misinterpreted Instagram post.
When Davis posted a photo of the house where she was born for her 55th birthday and added the caption, “I own it,” she didn't mean bought the house.

She later wrote in the comments on the Instagram post,  “Uhh....contrary to websites....I do not ‘own’ above house. I ‘own’ my STORY!! Too abstract I guess.”
