Pia Mia Signs Multi-Million Dollar Interscope Deal

Singer, 17, who earned buzz serenading Drake at the Kardashian house, lands a major contract for her debut.

Teen singer Pia Mia landed herself a multi-million deal with Interscope, and Kim Kardashian may have had something to do with it, reports TMZ

Pia is friends with Kim's sisters Kylie and Kendall Jenner, and about a year ago the reality superstar posted a video of the singer performing Drake's "Hold on We're Going Home" at a birthday dinner, which blew up online. The 17-year-old belted out her rendition in front of Drake, Kanye West, and the rest of the Kardashian/Jenner clan.

Now with Interscope behind her, the teenager can look forward to a hefty paycheck. According to the deal, Pia will get $1.3 million for her first album in addition to more financial bonuses if her studio releases do well. She stands to earn up to $9 million more if the label goes forward with three extra albums.

The Guam-born talent signed to Interscope in February and released an EP called The Gift. "When I met Pia and heard her sing I was floored," Joie Manda, pesident of Urban Music at Interscope Records said. "Artists of her magnitude come along very rarely. We are truly excited to help her become a global superstar."

The young singer is working on her debut, she told OK! magazine back in April. "I'm doing rhythmic pop," she explained. "So some of the songs lean more urban, some of the songs lean more pop and then some of them are stripped down ballads."

Her debut is due out this year.
