Solange Has Been Tapped to Deliver Keynote Speech at Yale University

Not her first time bestowing her wisdom on college students, either.

Solange has recently booked an exciting new gig, enabling the singer to keep promoting her messages surrounding #BlackGirlMagic outside of her music.

As reported, Solange has been tapped to speak at Yale University later this month (Jan. 26), and will deliver a keynote speech prior to participating in a roundtable discussion. The theme for this specific event is captured in its title, "Everybody Still Wants to Fly: Activism in Pop From Prince to Solange."

Solange's appearance is in conjunction with a three-day conference, aptly titled "Blackstar Rising & The Purple Reign: Celebrating the Legacies of David Bowie and Prince." The unique and interactive conference will be moderated by Yale University professor Daphne A. Brooks.

Additionally, the singer's exciting new speaking engagement is scheduled to take place roughly just a week after she will perform at the Peace Ball, which is being held at the Smithsonian National Museum of African American History and Culture in Washington, D.C.

Judging from Solange's past endeavors with public speaking, such as discussing the Black Is Beautiful movement at Stanford University, it's clear the singer truly is onto something special here. Perhaps these speaking engagements will even inspire a nationwide panel of sorts to accompany her music stores. In fact, let's manifest that right now...

Her talk at Yale is free and open to the public. See more information here.
