Kyrie Irving Once Challenged Kobe Bryant to a Game for How Much?

Seems like Uncle Drew is still waiting, too.

After sinking what turned out to be the winning shot of Game 7 of the NBA Finals nearly two weeks ago, Kyrie Irving has another hoop dream that he'd like to cash in on. Emphasis on cash.

Speaking to NBA.com earlier this week, Irving brought up the time he challenged Kobe Bryant to a game of 1-on-1 for $50,000. Well, after helping the Cleveland Cavaliers win the championship, Irving's confidence is soaring and he wants to hold the Black Mamba to the bet... even if Kobe is retired and mentors him.

"It’s just unbelievable to even realize how far we’ve all come in that short of time. Being a young kid in 2012, challenging one of the best players to ever play the game, thinking about his mentorship of me now and me being able to grow as a basketball player and a man, there’s nothing like it," Irving said. "I still want the 1-on-1 game, and I know that if I texted him right now and I said, ‘Come to Vegas,’ and we had this same bet on the line, I don’t know what he would say but I know he would have some words for me."

Irving's confident words come after this initial moment during a Team USA practice in 2012.

As competitive as Kobe is, he may give this some thought. But Kobe, just because Kyrie's nickname and alter ego is Uncle Drew doesn't mean you can take him. After all, you'll be 38 in August and Kyrie is only 24.

That and Bryant doesn't want any stains on his legacy.

But it could be fun to watch...
