Guess Which Rapper Says He Was 'Almost Guaranteed' to Play Tupac in 'All Eyez on Me'

The role ultimately went to newcomer Demetirus Shipp Jr.

Demetrius Shipp Jr. wowed critics and fans alike for his performance as Hip Hop icon Tupac Shakur in the recent film, All Eyez on Me, but one G-Unit rapper has come forward to say that he was practically offered the role before Shipp came into the picture.

Young Buck sat down with Vlad TV to claim that director Benny Boom had promised Buck the role without even asking him to audition.

“People don’t know this, but I was supposed to play Pac,” Buck said. “I didn’t get as far as going to read the scripts and things of that nature, but I was lined up as one of those guys to play Tupac."

He then made an even more unbelievable statement, saying, ”I was told I was given the role without the audition…until Pac himself came along.”

Hear what else Buck had to say about the once-in-a-lifetime opportunity, below.

Regardless of what Buck has to say about the film, we're glad Shipp nailed the role and brought Tupac to life.
