Mom Regains Custody of Children - Former home of Rosa Parks hit by vandals, plus more national news. — Natelege Whaley (@Natelege_) Shanesha Taylor of Phoenix is relieved to now have custody of her two young children, after Child Protective Services barred her from seeing them. She left them in a car to do a job interview in March. Abuse charges against her will be dropped as she completes a diversion program. Black TV Producer Arrested on His Way to Emmys - Charles Belk, an award-winning television producer, was in California for the annual Emmys award show. The festive weekend was halted for him after he was arrested by Beverly Hills police officers who had mistaken him for another Black man. Mom of Four Mistakely Pulled Over by Police - Kametra Barbour, a Texas mother, was driving on a highway in Forney when an officer mistakenly pulled her over and handcuffed her while her children were still in the backseat, TheGrio writes. The officers were looking for a driver who was speeding. Barbour expressed her feelings about the situation on Facebook. “Words can not express how we felt after we arrived home. Chicago Gun Violence Leaves 42 Injured - Five people were killed and 42 were injured in gun violence this past weekend in Chicago, according to the Chicago Sun-Times. The youngest of those injured was a three-year-old boy, who was killed Sunday night after being shot in the head. Additionally, Roshad McIntosh, 19, was shot by a police officer after pointing a gun at the officer.
