50 Cent to Help Raise Awareness for Homeless LGBT Youth

Rapper will perform at Cyndi Lauper's fourth annual Home for the Holidays benefit concert.

50 Cent is lending his voice for homeless LGBT youth. The G-Unit rapper will perform at Cyndi Lauper’s fourth annual Home for the Holidays benefit concert to shed light on the struggles facing LGBT teens, Rolling Stone reports.

The show takes place Dec. 6 at New York City’s Beacon Theater. Salt-N-Pepa and Dixie Chicks member Natalie Maines are also among the performers, while Orange Is the New Black star Laverne Cox will co-host alongside Rosie O’Donnell.

"For the fourth year in a row, Home for the Holidays will feature an amazing night of performances in support of gay, lesbian, bisexual, and transgender youth experiencing homelessness," Lauper said in a statement. "I am astounded by the artists who continue to give of their time and talent each and every year and I am so excited by the lineup who are joining us in December."

The organization behind the show was co-founded by Lauper in 2007, named after one of her No. 1 hits. "The concert plays such an important role in supporting the True Colors Fund's work to ensure that no young person is homeless again because of their sexual orientation or gender identity," she said.

Proceeds from the concert will benefit the True Colors Foundation. Tickets go on sale this Friday (Oct. 24) via Ticketmaster.
