Rihanna to CBS: You Unfairly Punished Me

Singer blasts network for removing "Run This Town" from Thursday Night Football lineup, over Ray Rice domestic violence video.

Rihanna sent a public a message to CBS for attempting to add “Run This Town” — her collaboration with Jay Z and Kanye West — back to the schedule this week. The song was removed from the opening of Thursday Night Football after a surveillance video was released of Ray Rice knocking his now-wife unconscious.

Rihanna, who was a victim of domestic violence at the hands of Chris Brown in 2009, tweeted this morning, “CBS you pulled my song last week, now you wanna slide it back in this Thursday? NO, F--k you! Y'all are sad for penalizing me for this.”

The bajan beauty also wrote, “The audacity."

"Run This Town" was removed and replaced with a discussion on domestic violence three days after the Rice footage went public. Rice has been fired from the Baltimore Ravens and is currently appealing an indefinite suspension from the league.

CBS released a statement announcing that Rihanna’s song has been permanently removed effective this Thursday (Sept. 18). “We will be moving in a different direction with some elements of our football open,” the statement reads. “We will be using our newly created Thursday Night Football theme music to open our game broadcast.”
