Rihanna Has Something to Say to Her Navy and the Beyhive

And she's not here for the cat fights.

Roc Nation’s Barbadian princess Rihanna enjoyed a stellar year with the release of her highly celebrated eight studio album, Anti.

And though the Recording Academy for 2017’s Grammy Awards didn’t see it fit for a candidacy for Album of the Year with Beyonce’s Lemonade, Ri-Ri is not here for the Beyhive and Rihanna Navy Wars.

Speculation rose that she may have agreed with her zealous Navy fan base when she liked an Instagram post from a fan page that scolded the Recording Academy for not including her in such a noble Grammys category. In its condemnation, it threw some not-so-subtle shade at Bey’s Lemonade project and mentioned that Anti hadn’t made the cut out of fear that its greatness would match or succeed Queen Bey in Album of the Year.

And of course with such bold statements, the Navy initiated warfare with the swarming Beyhive as fans bitterly disputed whose album was better and who was more deserving of the Album of the Year accolade.

Fortunately, however, the “Needed Me” songstress expressed true anti sentiment to the bickering, and gave both her Rihanna Navy and the Beyhive a little something to sip on.

After mentioning that she had liked the post solely because she found the photo funny, she hadn’t paid any attention to what was written in the caption.

“I’m petty af, yes. But this is just unnecessary!,” she wrote in the comments of the fan page. “I wish y’all would drop this topic and see things from the bigger picture! We don’t need to be putting Black woman against each other!”

She went on to applaud the Grammy’s for celebrating everyone’s musical success, as it’s worth noting that Rih did receive a Best Urban Contemporary Album and Best Recording Package nod with Anti. She’s also reigning in Record of the Year, Best Pop/Duo Performance, Best R&B Performance, Best R&B Song nominations with the Drake-assisted “Work.”

See what she had to say to the combative Rihanna Navy and buzzing Beyhive below.
