Teenage Boy Arrested for Posting Eminem Lyrics on Instagram

The song referenced the Columbine shooting.

On Monday (Aug. 31), police arrested a 15-year-old boy for posting Eminem lyrics on Instagram that referenced the 1999 Columbine High School shooting.

Officials at San Joaquin Memorial High School officials told Fresno police about the teenager’s post that said, "I take seven kids from Columbine, stand ’em all in a line, add an AK-47, a revolver, a nine, a MAC-11 and it oughtta solve the problem of mine. And that’s a whole school of bullies shot up all at one time. I’m just like Shady and just as crazy as the world was over this whole Y2K thing."

The alleged threat caused two schools to cancel classes on Tuesday (Sept. 1), San Joaquin Memorial and another school where he was previously enrolled, St. Anthony's Catholic School.

Billboard reports that the threatening nature of the post led to his arrest on terrorist threat charges and disrupting school activity. Fresno police searched his home too, where they found several guns, ammunition and a bullet-proof vest.

Fresno police Chief Jerry Dyer said they had “every reason to believe that there was potential for a threat to be carried out,” noting his socially awkward presence around people."These are really all of the things we look for in individuals that historically have been involved in incidents like Columbine," he added. "So we’re very fortunate that this was brought to our attention."

The boy is currently in juvenile detention. The family’s attorney state that his Instagram account was hacked and claim he didn’t post the lyrics.
