Joe Budden and Charlamagne Tha God Have a Score to Settle on The Breakfast Club

They talk Meek vs. Drake beef, reality TV and more.

Joe Budden’s appearance on The Breakfast Club this week seems like it was a long time coming.

Back in July, Charlamagne Tha God gave Budden the Donkey of the Day for his comments on I’ll Name This Podcast Later about Nicki Minaj and Meek Mill. Essentially, Budden wasn’t down with Meek’s PDA with Nicki on Instagram since he’s such a tough guy in his music. Charlamagne thought that was a ridiculous statement and blasted him on Donkey of the Day.

During this interview, Budden says he was hurt by his comments, but went on to explain it was because of their history together. “He just went really, really, really, really, hard,” Budden says of the Donkey of the Day segment. “He doesn’t go as hard for some other people when they’re in the same position. That one was worse than some of the others that you’ve given to people that you’re in good favor with.”

Further along in the interview, Budden addresses model Esther Baxter, whom he was accused of physically abusing a few years back. It sparked a lot more ridicule for the Slaughterhouse MC, but he was quick to defend himself by saying the media (and Charlamagne specifically) takes things out of context. Other topics they spoke about were Budden’s lack of motivation in putting out more music (despite just releasing his album All Love Lost) and his stints on reality TV shows, even mentioning Tahiry's episode on Dose of Reality
