Trump Wants Congress To Investigate Obama’s ‘Ridiculous’ Netflix Deal Instead Of His Business Operations
Trump is talking about Obama again.
In his latest Twitter tantrum, he asked the House Judiciary Committee to divert their attention from him, his business dealings and his potential conflicts of interest and to instead focus on Barack Obama.
“House Judiciary has given up on the Mueller Report, sadly for them after two years and $40,000,000 spent -- ZERO COLLUSION, ZERO OBSTRUCTION. So they say, OK, lets look at everything else, and all of the deals that ‘Trump’ has done over his lifetime. But it doesn’t….” he tweeted Monday (September 16).
“....work that way. I have a better idea. Look at the Obama Book Deal, or the ridiculous Netflix deal,” he continued. “Then look at all the deals made by the Dems in Congress, the 'Congressional Slush Fund,' and lastly the IG Reports. Take a look at them. Those investigations would be over FAST!”
But the investigation into Russia’s alleged interference in the 2016 election is actually still underway with the House Judiciary Committee’s efforts to obtain former special counsel Robert Mueller’s most sensitive secrets, which includes evidence and testimony collected by a grand jury, Politico reported.
Justice Department lawyers have argued those efforts should be denied because House Democrats can’t decide what to call the investigation, although they’ve claimed they’re in the midst of an “impeachment investigation,” Politico reports.
Still, Trump tweeted Monday, “They failed on the Mueller Report, they failed on Robert Mueller’s testimony, they failed on everything else, so now the Democrats are trying to build a case that I enrich myself by being President. Good idea, except I will, and have always expected to, lose BILLIONS of DOLLARS..”
He went on to say: “....for the privilege of being your President - and doing the best job that has been done in many decades. I am far beyond somebody paying for a hotel room for the evening, or filling up a gas tank at an airport I do not own. These Radical Left Democrats are CRAZY! Obama Netflix?”
In 2018, the former first couple closed a Netflix deal to produce content over multiple years through their Higher Ground Productions company, which includes docu-series, documentaries and features and both scripted and unscripted series, including a children’s series. American Factory, a documentary focused on a Chinese company reopening a factory in Ohio and the culture clashes that follow, which debuts August 21, is the first release from that deal.
