Missouri Man Arrested for Racial Harassment Toward Waitress - Tommy Dean Gaa is facing a felony assault charge in an alleged hate crime for telling an African-American waitress, "I have a place I would like to take you where I hung your grandpa," the Maryville Daily Forum reports. Gaa was having breakfast at a Maryville restaurant (Jan. 25) and decided to start his day by serving up some racial jokes that weren't very funny. Transgender Woman Is Killed in Possible Hate Crime - Ty Underwood, a transgender woman, was shot and killed on Monday (Jan. 26) in Tyler, Texas. Authorities are investigating the possible hate crime. "This has to be a hate crime, nothing else, because that was an upstanding person with a good heart,” Underwood's roommate said to KYTX.
