It's not everyday that you hear of one of the most powerful white men in tech rallying for a Black actor to play him in a movie about his life.

Such is the case for antivirus software mogul John McAfee, who recently revealed in an interview that race is not a determinant factor in who would fill the role. In fact, he has a specific Black actor in mind.

Speaking with Newsweek, McAfee threw out a few names, but the one that had many scratching their heads in confusion was Hollywood icon Morgan Freeman.

In the interview, he said that Pirates of the Caribbean actor Johnny Depp is definitely talented, but he believes Freeman would do a better job at capturing his essence.

"I think Depp is as good as Javier Bardem, John Turturro, Mickey Rourke or Morgan Freeman [to play the part]," he said. "I am not joking about the latter. I pray from a time when the skin tone is not a factor in character choice. From what I know of Freeman, his character closest matches mine."

McAfee's life, if given the biopic treatment, would prove to be anything but boring as he's had quite the eventful past few years. Back in 2013, he fled the country to Belize after being connected to a murder at his neighbor's house, and stayed there for a number of years.

The 71-year-old is famously known for pioneering the antivirus software named after him in 1987.
