Kelis Shares Her Tips on Being a Great Host

The singer suggests stocking up on beer and wine and never pulling out the paper plates.

Kelis is here to teach us how to ace our next dinner party. The singer and Le Cordon Bleu graduate recently chatted with GQ about her top tips for being a great host as well as her dos and don'ts for setting the table for guests.
"Never do paper plates. Never. Unless it's a barbecue. I am not one of those people with frickin' dust collecting on my crystal," Kelis said.
Kelis, whose upcoming album is titled Food, also shared that she loves Belgian beer and wine. "I like to be well stocked," she said, plus she offered up her advice on how to set the right mood with proper music selections.
"You want to create an atmosphere but still have it be something people can talk over — it's not a frickin' rave, it's my living room. Massive Attack's Mezzanine is nice to start; then maybe you go to Roberta Flack's Chapter Two."
