Damn: Kevin Gates Can't Catch a Break

There's been another disappointing legal development.

When Kevin Gates was sentenced to jail in 2016 after being found guilty of kicking a then-18-year-old fan at a club appearance, BWA fans may have never saw an extended stay behind bars coming for the Louisiana rapper.

But now that his fans, friends and family alike have witnessed such misfortune, an Illinois judge has just banged the gavel on another unforeseen and unfortunate ruling on the “I Don't Get Tired” rapper’s freedom.

As TMZ reports, Gates appeared for a hearing at the Bridgeview Courthouse in Illinois, the state where he faces felony weapon charges discovered by way of outstanding warrants during his 6-month stay at Polk County jail for the fan-kicking incident. Unfortunately, the judge denied Gates’s bail during the hearing, forcing him to remain confined at Kendall County Jail. TMZ also points out that the reason for the denial has not yet been discovered.

The only person who may have had prior knowledge to the bail rejection before fans is Gates’s wife of two years and manager, Dreka Gates. Previously vocal in support of her husband and operating most, if not all, of his social media accounts, a message concerning a canceled appearance was posted to Gates’s official Instagram account on Sunday (April 16).

“Unfortunately, due to a situation that we have no control in, Kevin is unable to perform at Hippie Hill on 4/20,” the caption and post reads. “We sincerely apologize to all of you who made plans to attend! Thank you all for your continued support.”
